Safe Environment for our Children:
In compliance with Diocesan policy St. Cecilia School offers a safe environment program at least biannually to it's students.
"All parishes and schools in the Diocese shall offer for parents and students, on at least a biennial basis, a "safe
environment for children" component of the educational program, in keeping with the American Bishops' "Charter for
the Protection of Children and Young People."
Special Needs/Gifted Education:
Provisions
are made for individual needs that include additional instruction and modifications for learning disabilities. Opportunities
to excel beyond grade level instruction are available also.
Religious Training: All students receive religious and moral
training as one of their core subjects. The religion classes follow the curriculum guidelines established by the Diocese
of Covington and are under the jurisdiction of the Pastor. Students and teachers attend Mass twice each week.
The sacraments of Reconciliation and First Communion are celebrated in the second grade. Students prepare for and receive
the sacrament of Confirmation in the eighth grade. Daily prayer and rosary are an intrinsic part of each day.
Opportunities for service and stewardship, modeled after the lives of the Saints, put faith into action and are a part of
the school mission.
Standardized Testing: St. Cecilia uses the standardized testing system the Terra Nova Test, Second Edition. These tests are administered every
year in the spring to students in
grades
2, 3, 4, 5, 6, and 7.
