St. Cecilia Parent Teacher Organization  "S.C.P.T.O."

Welcome to Saint Cecilia Parent Teacher Organization! As the name suggests, we need the help and cooperation of all the parents and teachers to make this school year a success!  We have chosen a Catholic education for our children.  Unfortunately, that means we cannot rely on any funds from our tax dollars to supply some of the most basic needs, much less the needs specific to a Catholic Education.
SCPTO provides basic funding for general needs:Start up supplies for teachers- to update their individual classroom instructional equipment and general needs such as folders, marker, staplers, flashcards…you know how these essentials can add up!
  • General instructional tools-media equipment, flashdrives, etc.
  • Flu shots to keep our staff healthy.
  • Student information on how to keep healthy.
  • First aid supplies for the teachers to have handy.
  • CPR training for the teachers.
  • Funds for the teachers continuing education conferences.
  • General supplies that used to be on the student supply lists-copy paper, wipes, tissues, paper towels, hand cleaner
SCPTO provides funding specific to our Catholic education:
  • Tuition Assistance-to help defray salary and benefit expenses.
  • First Communion and Jesus Day banner supplies.
  • 8th Grade Retreat to Youth 2000.
  • Catholic Schools Week/Student Appreciation-tokens and gifts for the students in celebration of their Catholic identities.
SCPTO organizes fund raisers through its dedicated members and volunteers to help financially through the year.  We need your help! Please, prayerfully consider volunteering your time and talent at one or more of the following “Fun Raising” events.
  • Chairpersons for Golf Outing, Family Night, Spring Spectacular, or the Walkathon.
  • Volunteers who are willing to help the Chairs.
  • Businesses willing to make a charitable donation that could be used at any of these Fun Raisers
  • Donations of items/services for door prizes or silent auctions
It may not always be possible to share your time or talent, but you can still help!  Market Day offers many delicious food items as a one-stop food shop.  You just complete and return the order form to school or order online.  The school receives part of the profit! Another way to help out is by sending in your PTO dues, becoming a member, and attending the meetings.  We value your participation, opinions and ideas!   Join us and make a difference here at Saint Cecilia!

WORLD'S FINEST CHOCOLATE SALE!

Dear Parent/s,

SCPTO is conducting their second annual candy fundraiser.  On October 4th-22nd, each family will be asked to sell one case of World’s Finest Chocolate.  This fundraiser is to supplement much needed equipment and supplies that the school needs.  One of these items is a copying machine in the Middle School area to accommodate the Middle School teachers and their students.   A vote will be taken at the September 14th general membership meeting to confirm how the money raised will be used.  The 8th grade class will also be using proceeds from the candy they sell to go towards their 8th grade class trip in April.

Candy Bars will be sent home with the youngest child in the family on Monday, October 4th. If you would rather pick up your case of candy, you may come to the foyer of the school on Monday, October 4th from 7-7:30 a.m.  A representative from the SCPTO will be in the foyer ready to accommodate you.  If you know you will be able to sell more than one case, please let us know and we will set aside extra cases for your family. Once a family has received a case of chocolate, they are responsible for returning all money from bars sold and/or all remaining bars not sold.  Please do not transfer your candy bars to another family to sell.  Please return all unsold candy to the SCPTO in order to receive credit.
Each case of candy comes with a money envelope.  Please mark your family’s name on the envelope and grade level before returning the money.  This way we can assure that every family receives the credit deserved from their sales. We are asking families also to write a check for the total amount of their sales.  Coins tend to fall out of bags and envelopes, and this usually results in money tracking problems.  A SCPTO representative will be in the school foyer 7:00-7:30 a.m. throughout the sale (Oct. 4th -22nd).

Like every fundraiser, there are always prizes for the top sellers:  First place seller receives $100.00 in SCRIPS, 2nd place-$75.00 in SCRIPS, 3rd place--$50.00 in SCRIPS.   Please do your best to help us help our children by making this a successful fundraiser. Sincerely,St. Cecilia PTO

Why join PTO?

Joining the St. Cecilia Parent Teacher Organization is primarily to benefit your child but it also benefits St. Cecilia School.

As a member of SCPTO you not only get information first hand you are part of the input. Your voice and your opinion matters.

SCPTO provides an exciting opportunity to meet the other parents and teachers of St. Cecilia School. It also gives you the opportunity to discuss ideas, concerns and share your experiences with the other members.

Volunteering!!! By volunteering, you put your skills and talents to use for a noble cause, your kids. Your children will benefit along with their classmates and St. Cecilia School.

Your participation will play an important role in fundraising to provide school improvements, school supplies, field trips and equipment for students. Each family is required to contribute 20 parent partnership hours per school year and SCPTO fundraising events provide an excellent opportunity to fulfill this obligation.

Finally, by becoming an active SCPTO member you are showing your child that school is as important to you as you deem it to them.

Please return the bottom portion to the school office with your $10 dues. Checks made payable to SCPTO
